James Gragg-Reilly
Director of Research
James is the Director of Research at Summa Strategies, leading Summa’s agile team of public affairs researchers, which specializes in crafting airtight monitoring plans for clients small and large and across various sectors.
With a strong background in public affairs research, parliamentary and legislative affairs, building client and industry focussed strategic monitoring plans, and public affairs consulting, James is a creative problem solver who has provided counsel to clients across sectors including financial services, technology, health, labour and Indigenous justice.
James came to Summa as a former member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery who specialized in-depth and detailed public policy reporting for private and government clients and to the public. James is also a former legal writer who practiced in Indigenous alternative sentencing. After joining the firm, James spearheaded the development of Summa’s research capabilities and built a team of experts who now provide Summa’s clients with unparalleled research, monitoring, and parliamentary affairs support.
A musician by passion, James is a proud member of the Canadian music community, participating in performance across the country and event management in Ottawa in his spare time.
