Simon Polesel
Research Manager and Consultant
Simon is a Research Manager and Consultant at Summa Strategies, where he supports clients with parliamentary research, political and policy monitoring, procedural analysis, and strategic intelligence. In his role, he manages research projects from inception to completion and works as part of a coordinated team to provide timely analysis on emerging political, legislative, and regulatory developments.
Simon has previous experience interning for a Conservative member of Parliament and has volunteered on political campaigns at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels. He began his career at Summa as an intern before progressing into increasingly senior research and consulting roles.
Originally from Toronto, Simon moved to the nation’s capital to attend Carleton University, where he earned a bachelor of arts in law with a minor in music and later completed a master of arts in legal studies. His master’s thesis examined Canada–United States trade cooperation, focusing on the intersection of international trade, forced labour, and strategic economic relations.
In addition to his political and public affairs experience, Simon has a background in music and has performed as an orchestral musician in orchestras and chamber music ensembles at both the high school and university levels.
